Went to watch Avatar ytd, in 3D. Ok back to the 3D part in a while.
The film was great man. At first, everytime I saw the McDonald's ad on tv, I thought Avatar was some dumb animation with blue people in it.
Later on, it seems like everyone was talking about it. I was curious about all that hype, and I went to wiki the film. Then I realised it was a film by James Cameron! [He's the director of Titanic, btw]
And holy crap, he planned this for 15 years?!! Like wrote it and created the setting, people, and language for the film. Omg like, CREATE A LANGUAGE.
IT WAS DUPER COOL, and everyone should watch it.
Ok now about the 3D. With all my previous 3D experiences, I kind of expected the IN-YOUR-FACE-3D effects. But no, it wasn't. I was kind of disappointed lah, paid extra 4 bucks leh. I thought I'd see arrows flying to me, dragons licking my face, you know you know. But everything was just a little bit nearer, that's all.
Worst of all, the 3D glasses was totally uncomfortable to put on! It hurt my nose bridge, [ok not mine high enough like an ang moh] and the image wasn't shiok so I'd rather watch in normally.
But then when I removed the glasses, the image was blurry. SIAN TILL BAO.
So imagine, for the full duration of the film, I HAD TO HOLD THAT STUPID PAIR OF GLASSES! And all that 3D shit gave me a splitting headache when I got home.
NO MORE 3D, EVER! I think the normal version would do just fine.
Went home, read 8 days, and there was an article about 3D films! OMG. I should have read that earlier.
They said the 3D for movies, it's not the in your face kind, it's digital 3D, hence the lack of "BOM!" moments. You get what I mean.
But on the whole you should really watch Avatar! (:
A great wedding
Monday, December 21, 2009 @ 10:54 pm
Attended Sapiah's son's wedding on Sunday.
I haven't been to a wedding since like, 10 years. Damn long please.
To me, as a kid, weddings were happy days when I got to wear flowers on my head, and munch on gross fruit cakes in pretty boxes!
Gosh, the fruit cakes were so popular back then!
Ok, back to the wedding. It's also my first cross-culture wedding! It was kind of different, as it was held at a Community Club. Not bad at all!
The place was air-conditioned and nicely done (: FOOD WAS GREAT OMGGG.
I never really had Malay/Muslim food too. The last time was probably at Bintan?
Of course, pratas, nasi lemak, curry puff not counted LAH. Is prata even malay?
Anyway, Mashita, my muslim colleague, brought us around the buffet area, and introduced the dishes to us (:
My favourite malay dish is now LONTONG! OMG I loveeeee KETUPATS! I can todali eat it on it's own too! And I'm still a bit sad that I can't make a ketupat out of ribbons. You know, the decoration thing?
I WANT TO LEARN LEH! Anyone can teach me?? Then maybe someday I can make a real ketupat. Wheeeeee (:
Saw the bride & groom making their way in. OMG SO COOL PLEASE. The guys were playing the drums behind them; it was like a grand welcome! When they were seated, there was even a dance performance for them! Kind of reminded me of the oriental palace!
Like, the king and queen would sit on their thrones, and graceful maidens would dance for them.
It's so traditional and cultural and I like it! I kind of envy the tradition and unity they have.
Like the whole family would wear the same clothes, OKAY not exactly the same, but the fabric and color all that. One look and it's like, FAMILY.
Chinese don't even really wear our traditional costumes at all. People only dress their kids in mini Qi Paos, maybe cos it's cool. I think even middle-aged aunties would look hot in cheongsams. It's a shame that we are so trying to be angmoh and everything.
White weddings, western fashion influences, the "Silk is sucky when I perspire" excuse, OLD SCHOOL IS COOL MAN.
Ok back to the wedding again. The groom then gave a short and touching speech, introducing his wife as the "Queen of his heart". It's so cheesy, but seriously, it sure is great to be a queen and, rule someone's heart (:
He then went on to sing a song dedicated to her! I think the title of the song is "You & Me" or something, by Lifehouse. I have never heard of this song before, but I think the groom sang really great! Good voice and I could todali feel his emotions while sitting down there! Towards the end of the song, he even held the bride's hand and hugged her.
I WAS MOVED TO TEARS.
OMG I'm such a sucker for such things. But seriously, it was really romantic.
I wish they'd live happily ever after!
Why do I love Gooby so much?
@ 10:40 pm
OK THIS IS A CRAZY POST.
I was looking at Gooby's photos, all of them. And I just thought, "He's such an ass! But I love him!"
HAHAHA OMG.
Yesterday, Eb, Ab and I, we took him for a walk. Together! The feeling rocks. We came to the playground and this random idea came up. We wanted to test Gooby's love for us.
Cos you know, he seems like he loves us, but sometimes, I bet he just wants to kill me as much as I want to kill him! HAHA!
So we thought we'd "abandon" him. See whether he'd run after us.
And so, I tied his leash to the playground ladder, and we walked away. Still quite nice, got say "Bye bye!" to him.
At first he just looked at us, then as we walked further away, HE TRIED TO RUN TO US!
The leash yanked at his neck tightly and he just kept lunging forward! He looked at me pleadingly with his puppy eyes, like "Don't go..."
Haha ok that's my imagination. But still, his face! It was so "AWWWWWW".
And of course we all ran back to hug him! OMG I AM SO SICK RIGHT.
But now we all know that he loves us!
He's so naughty sometimes, must scare him once in a while. LOL!! And after we untied him from the pole, he pooed. Literally scared shitless. OMG BABY, YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU THE MOST <3

Ran damn alot until we all almost died!
And Gooby was still bursting with energy!
Really enjoying all the daily walks with him.
He loves people!
But sometimes, they get scared of him when he's too hyper.
Oh well :/
But then alot of people loves him too!
One construction worker even recognises him! Haha he said hi to us just now!
So cool please we have new friends! [we even have kitty friends!]
Ab & I kind of recognise some of the neighborhood cats, since they're always lurking around.
